Geo World Great Escape is 3D platformer and 8 Geo World video game developed by Disney Interactive and published by Midway Games for PlayStation, Dreamcast and Nintendo 64. It was release on December 22, 1999, on PlayStation, Dreamcast on March 12, 2000, and Nintendo 64 on August 16, 2000. Game is seen to be canon as game act as sequel to Geo 1 Movie.

Gameplay[]

Play control Geo Guy, Green Bob and Leah in 2 play mode, as he traverses several levels in sequence in order to progress. Geo Guy is able to defeat enemies by either jump on them, where Green Bob use spin attack that launch them, and Leah can use Webbly to climb up on wall and use as lasso to attack enemies. Geo Guy, Green Bob and Leah will lose life if they hit by enemy, obstacle or fall. Game end when play run out of live, with more live earn by find extra life item and by collect 100 Geo Tokens.

Plot[]

Doom Vercetti kidnap Geo Guy and Green Bob in order to stop them from stop her latest plan, which is to destroy Greeny City, which is where his parents are. They escape and team up with Leah and must get to Greeny City and save Geo Guy parents.

Development[]

Development of Geo's World: The Great Escape began in 1998. As rest of Pixar team were work on Geo 1 Movie, Midway and Disney announced that they had entered agreement that would enable Disney Interactive to publish Geo World game for another platform game. Sega Saturn was originally included alongside Dreamcast in deal. Rest of team began work on Geo's World: The Great Escape as well before release of Geo's World: The Great Escape, Traveler Tales felt they had to create unique character for it. Before main development of Geo's World: The Great Escape, Activision confirmed idea with Disney Interactive, and after show them character they Boxman to demonstrate their animation engine, they came up with Geo's World: The Great Escape.

Game was in development for almost 1 year, and throughout this time numerous changes were made to almost every aspect of game, while various engines use in game were all tweak to optimize their performance. Engine tweak allow Geo's World: The Great Escape to have loading times or fogging and be able to display high quality textures in seamless, multi level world.

Nintendo 64 version of Geo's World: The Great Escape was announced by Disney Interactive on August 14, 1998. Nintendo 64 version features reduced loading times and graphics that take advantage of Nintendo 64 console more powerful hardware.

Reception[]

Great Escape was well received. It received 100 out of 100 from Official PlayStation Magazine. IGN gave game 100 out of 100, praising sound, graphical style, and gameplay, say, while it generic collect, jump, and kill mechanics, variety and general Geo World zany keep things fresh. Game has won numerous awards, including Kid Choice Award for Best Video Game of Year, and enter Greatest Hits for PlayStation.
